Family was important to the Kerker’s. Barb and her siblings met monthly for lunch or dinner. She also loved to entertain and cook for family. An excellent cook, they shared she was an even better baker and her treats will be missed. Barb’s faith was important to her and she prayed the rosary and Novena’s daily. A favorite hobby was making sequined Christmas ornaments that she gave to family and friends. She collected angels and dolls and her family teased that in later years she became a fan of the Home Shopping Network. She also liked to travel which included trips to Europe and Hawaii. In their younger years, Barb and Carl loved to go dancing weekly.
Barb is survived by daughter and son-in-law’s Sue and Wayne Stearns of New Albany, Indiana, Becky and Bill Mitchell of Lexington Park, Maryland; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Carla Heidlage of Batesville; sister Betty Waters of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
