Barbara (Baker) Sherk, 85, of Greendale passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn. Barbara was born on Friday, October 29, 1937 in Owsley County, Kentucky; daughter of Abner and Charlotte “Lottie” (Harold) Baker. Barbara was a beautician and later worked as a waitress at Bob’s Diner. She was a member of Aurora Church of Christ where she loved attending. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, playing cards, and playing the game Aggravation. Barbara also liked cooking, traveling, and spending time with her beloved family.
Barbara will be missed by her son Don (Rebecca) Emery of Lawrenceburg; stepdaughter Debbie Hundley of Alexandria, Kentucky; grandchildren Chris (Tiffany) Emery, Donnie (Sarah) Emery, Eric (Heather) Emery, Chasity (Zack Valvano) Emery, and Katie Hundley; eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Abner and Charlotte Baker; husbands Shelton Emery, Wilson Nease, and Robert Sherk; grandson Nick Hundley; five sisters and two brothers.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Barbara from 9-10 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro. A service will immediately follow at 10 AM with Pastor Brian Dunway officiating. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery.
