Muncie, In. — Ball State University’s online programs rank seventh in the country for military friendliness, according to veteran-owned Viqtory.
This is the second year in a row that the university’s online programs have earned such Top 10 recognition. Last year, online programs ranked eighth in the same report.
Ball State overall, and its Miller College of Business MBA, both earned the Military Friendly designation for 2019-20. Ball State has earned that designation each year since Viqtory began its Military Friendly Schools list 10 years ago. This year, 766 schools or parts of schools earned the prestigious honor.
The designations prove that the university offers top-notch support for students of all backgrounds, said Michael Black, assistant director of Ball State’s veterans affairs.
“Current and former service members are often juggling multiple personal and professional responsibilities in addition to their education,” he said. “We do our best to make their learning experience as smooth as possible.”
The announcement from Viqtory is the second of its kind in recent weeks for Ball State.
Earlier this year, U.S. News & World Report ranked Ball State 12th for graduate education programs and 20th for bachelor’s program in “Best Online Programs for Veterans” for 2019.
According to Viqtory, the Military Friendly Schools list has come to set the standard for higher education institutions to provide the best opportunities for veterans and their spouses. The list provides a comprehensive guide for veterans and their families using data from federal agencies and proprietary survey information.
The list previously was released by Victory Media, a part of Viqtory, a small business that connects the military community with civilian educational, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.
The Military Friendly Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine.
