Area Farm Bureaus receive awards

indiana-farm-bureau-300BATESVILLE, Ind. — Several county Farm Bureaus in the area have been recognized for outstanding performance.

An awards program was held on December 9th to focus on the achievements of Indiana’s County Farm Bureaus.

This year’s impact winners were honored for achievements in 4 categories, influential organization, issue engagement, public relations and education, and young farmers and youth.

Decatur County was awarded the Influential organization award for its “Meet the Candidates” night for county commissioners and council.

Franklin County was awarded in the Issue Engagement category for its involvement in the county’s livestock zoning discussions.

In the Public Relations and Education category, Rush County received an award for its expanded Ag in the Classroom program.

And Shelby County was awarded in the Young Farmer and Youth category for increasing youth involvement in the county board.

Decatur, Franklin, Rush, and Shelby counties were also honored for achieving the highest level of performance in all categories since the inception of the program five years ago.
