(Oldenburg, IN) – The Sisters of St. Francis at Oldenburg are offering another opportunity for guests to tour their historic Motherhouse and grounds on August 15, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
The first tour in celebration of 175 years of the Sisters’ faith, service and community was conducted earlier this year.
Guests are invited to explore pieces of convent history dating back to the 1850’s and learn about foundress Mother Theresa Hackelmeier.
A highlight of the tour is The Immaculate Conception chapel, with special attention paid to the details that amplify its beauty.
A timeline of the history of the Sisters of St. Francis is also on display that traces their journey.
Golf-cart tours of the cemetery and Memorial Chapel will also be available.
Sisters will be available throughout the tour to answer questions and engage in conversation.
The gift shop will be open, and light refreshments will be served in the Sisters’ dining room.
All are welcome to attend this free event.
