(Greensburg, IN) – John Amis was sworn in as a Greensburg Police Officer at Tuesday night’s Board of Works meeting.
Amis has six years of law enforcement experience – most recently with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office – and is a lateral transfer to GPD.
“The experience he brings is something you can’t get when you hire a new person,” said Chief Mike McNealy. “He’s showing that already in working with our field training officers. It’s just like having someone who’s been here for many, many years. He jumps right in and is able to go.
Meanwhile, Greensburg City Council did not meet Tuesday night due to a lack of agenda items.
Council’s next meeting is scheduled for July 29 at 6 p.m., which will be a 2026 budget workshop.
