Alan Monroe Burkhart, 44 of Greensburg

Alan Monroe Burkhart, 44, of Greensburg, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 7, 1981, in Greensburg, Indiana, the son of Mark A. Burkhart and Robin (McDonald) Zapfe.Alan was a lifelong resident of Greensburg and a 2000 graduate of Greensburg High School. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was married to Emily Sue Bauman. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2018. He is survived by his parents, Mark Burkhart and Robin (Danny) Zapfe both of Greensburg; his children, Olivia Burkhart and Owen Burkhart of Bradenton, Florida; sisters, Elizabeth Renee Burkhart of Westport and Hannah (Keem) Morris of Cincinnati, Ohio; his grandfather, Richard Burkhart of Greensburg and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily; grandmother, Romilda Burkhart; grandparents, Harry and Judy Powers; great grandmother, Helen Speer and his uncle, Jeffrey McDonald. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with cremation to follow.
