RIPLEY COUNTY, Ind. — 2015 was a successful year for the Ripley County Community Foundation.
In August 2014 Lilly Endowment announced its sixth Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow initiative.
Through Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow, Lilly Endowment matched $500,000 in donations to the Ripley County Community Foundation.
As a result of this opportunity, $1.25 million were added to the Foundation’s assets.
The Board of Directors were overwhelmed by the support the Ripley County Community Foundation received in response to Lilly Endowment’s initiative.
More than 1,500 individuals and businesses donated to the cause, with the youngest donor being 5 years old and the oldest donor being well into her 90’s.
In responding to the challenge, donors created 21 new funds, which honor loved ones, businesses and non-profit organizations.
