Batesville Bulldogs Senior Pitcher Leo Enneking was untouchable on Thursday, throwing a no-hitter in the Batesville Bulldogs’ 20-0 victory at North Decatur .
No North Decatur batter was able to locate Enneking’s pitches during the game. Enneking threw a no-hitter, striking out 12 batters and walking one while recording his momentous feat. He walked the second to last batter of the game, ending the perfect game opportunity, but got Fastbinder to strike out for the final out of the game in order to keep the no-hitter in tact.
Everything was working at the plate for the the Batesville Bulldogs in the sixth. North Decatur had no answer as the Batesville Bulldogs scored 11 runs. The Batesville Bulldogs scored in the sixth on an RBI single by Jacob Wilson, a two-run double by Enneking, a two-run single by Alex Roell, a three-run triple by Zach Britton, an RBI single by Joe Bohman and a two-run error.
Wilson added four RBIs and one hit for the Bulldogs, while Britton and Enneking racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Batesville Bulldogs. Freshman, Trey Heidlage added two hits and two RBIs on the day.
Bowling couldn’t get it done on the hill for North Decatur , taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out four.
After gaining the lead in the third inning, he Batesville Bulldogs didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring seven runs in that inning inning, two in the fourth, and eleven in the sixth.
The Bulldogs have won their past two games by outscoring opponents 28-0 and only allowing two hits.
Batesville is 2-2 for the season, while their record remains 1-1 in the EIAC conference.
