The Batesville Lady Bulldogs ran tough Thursday night, finishing their regular season with a victory at Greensburg’s 11 team invitational. Batesville scored 56 points beating Connersville by 12 points as they had 68, followed by East Central-75, Greensburg-80 and rounding out the top 5 was Oldenburg Academy with 118.
All of the Batesville runners were in the top 30 of the meet and they were led by Senior Kesley Gausman who was the meet runner up with a time of 19:59 and behind North Decatur’s, Megan Hoover. The Bulldogs then took, 11th, 12th, 14th and 18th place. They were Mary Poltrack, Sarah Poltrack, Emma Gausman And Katie Baumer respectively. Finishing the top varsity 7 were Maria Wessel with a 26th place finish followed closely by Kylie Lehman at 28th.
In the JV race, Batesville’s Madeleine Robben was the champion with a finishing time of 23:25. Many of the JV girls came in one right after another as the Bulldogs claimed 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th and 12th. Finishing in those spots were Liz Cuttle, Mary Catherine Barnett, Sarah Canady, who ran a persoan best, Jamie Day, Molly Weigel, Candice Roell, Breanna Hartman and Heidi Shaw.
The team now begins to prepare of the EIAC meet next Tuesday that will be held at East Central.
