GREENSBURG – The National Future Farmers of America Foundation is receiving a financial donation from a Greensburg-based bank.
MainSource is providing $14,750 to the FFA Foundation in support of their “Food for All” program.
The FFA program allows chapters to apply for up to $2,500 to support year-long service-learning projects that address local hunger needs.
Service-learning is a method of teaching and learning that challenges students to research, develop and implement solutions to identified needs in the school or community.
The MainSource donation will enable FFA to fund additional grants that serve more students and community members.
Grant Olds, VP Agricultural Manager for MainSource Bank, stated “MainSource appreciates being able to work with such a fine organization as FFA while helping hungry individuals in the communities that we serve.”
The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of young people by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
