A Decatur County man is in trouble with the law after authorities say he got into a bar fight and attempted to swallow illegal drugs to hide them from police.
Kyle M. Wise, 29, of the 2400 block of East C.R. 810 S. was taken into custody Saturday morning around 4 a.m. after he allegedly punched a man multiple times causing injury at the Beach Tiki Bar and Grill in Greensburg.
The Greensburg Daily News is reporting that a police search at the Decatur County Jail allegedly yielded prescription pills and marijuana from his pockets. An officer later noticed a plastic bag allegedly containing methamphetamine on the ground. Wise is accused of picking it up and attempting to swallow it.
Authorities stopped him from swallowing the substance and say they found another bag of the same drug in his mouth.
Wise remains behind bars on suspicion of battery, disorderly conduct, and felony drug charges. Bond has been set at $3,505.
He has had trouble with the law dating back to 2007. According to offender data from the Indiana Department of Corrections, Wise has been previously sentenced for drug possession and operating a vehicle as an habitual traffic violator.
