The Indiana Department of Transportation has reopened State Road 262 after making repairs at slide sites three and five miles south of U.S. Highway 50. The highway in Dearborn and Ohio Counties had been closed to traffic since April 7.
A specialty contractor “soil nailed” embankments at the two slide areas—shooting 20-foot steel shafts into the slopes. Meanwhile, INDOT maintenance crews installed several new drainage pipes under the roadway.
On Monday, INDOT crews completed asphalt repairs at four locations.
