Oldenburg Academy rolled Franklin County 8-1 in boys soccer Tuesday night at the Graveyard. Seven different Twisters found the back of the net. Connor Holder scored twice, while Maxwell Gauck, Blake Walker, Ray Walke, and Cayden Lieland all scored their first varsity goals. Damien Brelege and Ryan Hautman also found the back of the net for OA. Ben Harvey tallied the lone score for the Wildcats.
Batesville girls golf (158) beat Greensburg (193) and Lawrenceburg (259) in a tri-match at Greensburg Country Club. Bulldog senior Ava South took medalist honors with a two under par 33.
Oldenburg Academy volleyball downed Jac-Cen-Del in straight sets. Scores were 25-10, 25-23, 25-12.
Batesville and St. Louis split the middle school volleyball crosstown shootout. The Cardinals won the 7th grade game, 25-11, 25-20. The Bulldogs claimed the 8th grade match, 25-9, 25-12 to improve to 11-0 on the year.
The Cardinals shut out the Reds 3-0 in St. Louis in a game heard last night on WRBI. Michael McGreevy and two relievers limited the Reds to three hits on the night. The loss, combined with a Mets win over San Diego, leaves the Reds (75-76) three gamed behind New York for the final National League Wild Card spot with 11 games remaining. Cincinnati is also a game and half behind Arizona and tied with San Francisco in the playoff chase. The rubber match of the series is this afternoon. Brady Singer goes for the Reds. He’ll be opposed by fellow righthander Andre Pallante. Coverage begins at 12:45 on 103.9 FM.
The Indiana Fever extended their WNBA Playoff series by blowing out the Atlanta Dream 77-60 in Game Two last night in downtown Indianapolis. Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 19 points. Aliyah Boston added 15 for Indiana. The third and deciding game of the series is tomorrow night in Atlanta.
The Cincinnati Bengals placed quarterback Joe Burrow on injured reserve with that toe injury he suffered on Sunday. Quarterback Brett Rypien was signed off the practice squad to the active roster and will back up starter Jake Browning. The team also signed free agent QBs Sean Clifford and Mike White to the practice squad. Clifford is a Cincinnati native who played high school football at St. Xavier and his college ball at Penn State.
The Indianapolis Colts are preparing for their first AFC South opponent on Sunday. They will head south to Nashville where they will face the Tennessee Titans. The Colts are 2-0 for the first time since 2009 and are hoping to make it three straight wins to start the season. Daniel Jones has passed for over 250 yards in each of those first two games, which is just the second time he’s done that in his career.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have dropped to #24 in the AP Top 25. That’s after their two losses to open the college football season against Miami (FL) and Texas A & M. Both Eli Raridon and Malachi Fields said after practice on Tuesday that the assignment is simple, “just get the job done” when they face Purdue this Saturday. Kickoff at Notre Dame Stadium is at 3:30.
IndyCar has released the 2026 schedule, which will include 17 races. The NTT series will race on three straight weekends in March. There will be two races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway – the May 9 road course event and the Indy 500 on the historic oval on May 24. The schedule includes six oval courses, six road courses and five street circuits. Two oval races will take place under the lights. New events include the Phoenix Raceway and the Streets of Arlington. The season starts in Florida and ends in California in early September.
