Composting for a Greener Community

Join the Decatur County Health Department for an informative and hands-on program all about COMPOSTING – what it is, how to do it, and how you can help support the local community garden!

What you’ll learn: 

  • Composting Basics: What to compost & what to avoid 
  • Easy composting at home 
  • How compost supports healthy gardens and soil 
  • Community composting rules & collection guidelines
  • How to volunteer to collect and manage compost for the garden 

Bonus for participants: Everyone who attends will receive a 1.3-gallon composting bucket to take home. Use it to collect compostable materials and bring them back to help nourish the Decatur County Community Garden.
