19th Annual Franklin County Conservation Workshop

The 19th Annual Franklin County Conservation Workshop will be Thursday, March 20 at the Franklin County 4-H Fairgrounds (11225 County Park Road Brookville, IN 47012) in the new Franklin County Farmers Mutual 4-H Expo Hall, starting at 8:30 AM.

The speakers for this event will include Mike Schwegman with Capstan Ag Systems discussing general application and tip selection, the history of application conventional through pulse-width modulation technology, tip selection, and droplet size. Mark Cater with Purdue Extension Blackford County will present on biologicals with an emphasis on how biological products break down corn stalks. The final presentation will be the regulatory Office of the Indiana State Chemist topic presented by Veronica Bullock with Purdue Extension Franklin County addressing the regulatory changes regarding supervision of restricted-pesticides and general-pesticides, certifications needed for pesticide applications using drones, and the Purdue clean sweep program.

This event will offer PARP, CCH, and CEU credits for private and commercial applicators and certified crops advisors.

There is no cost to attend the workshop, but registration is required. To register, please email Veronica Bullock, bullockv@purdue.edu or call Purdue Extension Franklin County at 765-647-3511. A meal and refreshments will be provided at the workshop thanks to our sponsors: Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District, Franklin County Farm Bureau, Helena, Merrell Grain, Bath Insurance Group, Bath State Bank, and Schirmer’s Service Center.
