(Franklin County, IN) – Air Care flew a person with a broken leg to the hospital after they got lost in a wooded area near the Garr Hill boat ramp in Franklin County overnight.
A search involving Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies, Indiana Conservation Officers, Brookville firefighters and Letts EMS began after two people were reported lost in the woods around 10:15 p.m.
First responders eventually found the patient and the other person, and the Blooming Grove Fire Department was brought in to provide additional manpower.
Air Care was requested due to the time needed to get the victim out of the woods.
The unidentified person was removed shortly before 2 a.m. and taken by ambulance to the landing zone, where the medical chopper lifted off around 2:30.
