The Sports Voice brought you a boys basketball split doubleheader on Saturday. In the matinee, East Central got out of Brookville with a 33-31 win over Franklin County. In the nightcap, it was Class 2A #6 South Ripley over Switzerland County 50-38. The Raiders stay perfect on the year at 14-0.
In other boys hoops on Saturday, Lawrenceburg topped North Decatur 50-38; South Dearborn got past Greensburg 49-47; Triton Central beat Milan 51-34; Waldron nipped Jac-Cen-Del 41-40, and Southwestern (Shelby) bested South Decatur 67-56.
In girls Saturday basketball, Class 3A #1 Greensburg improved to 18-0 with a 73-38 win over Scottsburg; Class 1A #5 Oldenburg knocked off South Ripley 58-46. The Twisters go to 16-2; North Decatur defeated cross county rival South Decatur 36-27, and Franklin County destroyed Hagerstown by a score of 62-6.
East Central won the EIAC Wrestling Tournament at South Dearborn on Saturday. The Trojans finished at 295, followed by runner up Franklin County at 203. Batesville was fourth at 143 and Greensburg came in seventh at 102.
Santiago Schutte became the first Oldenburg Academy swimmer ever to compete in a diving event. It happened in Saturday’s three-way meet at Connersville that also included South Dearborn. Schutte scored 119.25 points in the one-meter diving event. He and teammates Albert Hudepohl, Grant Rosenberger and Nash King broke the school record in the the 400 meter freestyle relay by seven seconds.

Notre Dame takes on Ohio State for the College Football national championship tonight in Atlanta. The Fighting Irish are looking to win their first national title since 1988. The Buckeyes last won it all in 2014. Kickoff is at 7:30.
