Two Bodies Found in Burned Out Home

(Friendship, IN) – The bodies of two people were found Wednesday in a burned-out home along Cave Hill Road in Friendship.

Investigators say the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department received a call about 11:22 a.m. that the home in a remote area was destroyed by flames, possibly several days before the discovery.

Upon arrival at the home, which is not visible from the road, firefighters determined two people were missing.

The Indiana State Fire Marshal and the Ripley County Coroner’s Office were called in to assist.

After several hours, the bodies of the victims were found and sent to the Hamilton County, Ohio Coroner’s Office for identification.

The investigation is ongoing and no other details are being released right now.

“Please keep the families of these victims in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the difficult time ahead,” reads a statement from the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department. “Thanks to the multiple agencies who assisted in this effort.
