Joseph Lee Stebbins, 77, of Greendale, IN, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024.
He was born October 2, 1946, in Atlantic City, NJ, son of the late Joseph Stebbins and Gertrude (Fein) Stebbins.
Joe worked as a factory worker, truck driver and eventually was the owner and operator of his own Jitney(#56) business in Atlantic City, NJ. He then worked for the New Jersey Transit, retiring after over 10 years of service.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter, he fished with everyone. Joe enjoyed photography and had several cameras-he was always the one taking pictures. In his younger years he was into karate, golfing, hunting, and coaching little league baseball. Joe was an explorer with his metal detector, finding old Spanish coins and other treasures at the beach and in other areas he discovered while doing research at the local library. Joe loved to ride his Harley motorcycle with his wife Marion. They had a camper and a membership with Outdoor World. They would often camp at campgrounds for multiple weeks at a time where family and friends would join them and enjoy spending time together. He was generous to his grandkids and always made them, and everyone, laugh.
Joseph is survived by his loving spouse, Marion (Brown) Stebbins, children, Pamela (Joe) Barbieri of Greendale, IN, Sheryl Stebbins of Mays Landing, NJ, Joeylee Stebbins of Riverview, FL; grandchildren, Teresa Barbieri, Keith Schofield, Jr., Brianna Jo (Braedon) Kimball, Angel Schofield, and Heaven Schofield; great-grandchildren, Jo Jo Schofield; his brother, Robert (Bob) Stebbins
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Gertrude Stebbins and his younger brother Michael Stebbins.
A Celebration of Life will be held in NJ at the convenience of the family. More details about that to come.
