Joan K. Huxsoll, 78, of Dillsboro, IN, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
She was born June 19, 1946, in Cincinnati, OH, daughter of the late Leslie John Huxsoll and Lorna (Speckman) Huxsoll, and grew up in Aurora, IN. She attended St. John’s School and was a 1964 graduate of Aurora High School.
Joan worked in the Cafeteria for Dearborn County Hospital, retiring after over 25 years of service.
She was a member of St John Lutheran Church Aurora, where she taught Sunday School for many years, and a former member of Tri Kappa.
Joan enjoyed crafts, reading, and word-search puzzles.
Joan is survived by her brothers, David L. Huxsoll of Dillsboro, IN and Charles (Jean) Huxsoll of Woodland, CA; nieces, Leslie Pakulski of Erie, PA and Sarah Dixon of New Braunfels, TX; nephews David B. Huxsoll of Fairfax,VA, Christopher Huxsoll of Woodland, CA, Cary Huxsoll of Sacramento, CA, and Matthew Dixon of Elizabethtown, NC; and 15 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Lorna Huxsoll; and her sister, Emily Dixon.
Friends will be received Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 at the St. John Lutheran Church Aurora, 220 Mechanic St., Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the Church at 11:00 with Pastor Mark Hesse officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, IN.
