(Decatur County, IN) – A Rushville woman was killed and a Greensburg man seriously injured when the motorcycle they were riding was struck by another vehicle late Thursday night on the 5600 block of North State Road 3 near Sandusky.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office says it happened shortly before 10: 30 pm when the motorcycle operated by Joshua Fields was northbound on State Road 3 followed by an SUV, which was driven by a 17-year-old male.
The cycle was hit from behind by the SUV when Fields slowed to turn right off 3.
Fields and his passenger, Abby Collins, were flown by Stat Flight to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where Collins later died from injuries suffered in the collision.
The SUV driver was not hurt.
Deputies say the investigation is ongoing.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Greensburg Police Department, Greensburg Fire Department, Decatur County Communications, the Clarksburg Fire Department, Decatur County EMS and Indiana State Police.
