Indiana girls’ high school basketball is well into its post-season, but we remind you there are still a couple weeks of regular-season boys’ hoops going on before their tournament action gets started.  Some of those games include tonight on WRBI, the Milan Indians visiting North Decatur, a game I’ll bring you live.  Wednesday, Rushville goes to Batesville, and Friday, South Ripley hosts South Dearborn, all 3 of those opening with pregame coverage around 7:15 and the tipoffs at 7:30.

Then Saturday afternoon, we open pitting East Central’s Trojans against the Batesville Bulldogs, on the air at 1:15, tipping at 1:30.  After that, we’ll have the girls’ Class 1A regionals, first with the North Decatur Chargers up against the Linton-Stockton Miners, tipoff set for 4:00.  That’ll be followed by Jac-Cen-Del’s Eagles taking on the Eels of Eminence High, tipping at 7:00 Saturday night.  Pregame on both those regionals will begin about 15 minutes prior.  Also in action will be the Greensburg Pirates, facing Scottsburg in Charlestown, in Class 3A.  The winners all advance to semi-state action the following Saturday!

Another reminder about a major high school wrestling performance in case you missed it Monday–  106-pound Greensburg Pirate grappler Cayden Beagle is on the way to New Castle for semi-state matches this weekend, after making the top 4, starting with pinning an opponent, in his regional competition.

Here are some young women making a big splash–  also from Greensburg, 4 Pirate swimmers–  Alaina Hostetler, Elizabeth Walden, Brenley Jameson, and Lily Corya, made last weekend’s sectional swim finals at East Central.  They finished 7th as a team in the 400-meter freestyle relay…  Brenley finished 15th in the 200 freestyle and 10th in the 100 backstroke.  And Corya came in 8th in the 200 individual medley, 9th in the 100 breaststroke.  Look at this– that breaststroke race ended up being Lily’s personal best, and it turns out, her time is the 8th fastest in Greensburg swim history.  The Pirates finished 10th as a team at that sectional, with Bloomington South winning, East Central coming in 4th, then South Dearborn 7th, Batesville 8th. But still some great results that’ll be happy memories for years to come.  Congratulations.

Men’s college basketball tonight–  IU’s Hoosiers visit Ohio State, the Ohio U Bobcats are in Muncie to face Ball State’s Cards, and after losing to Number 1 UConn at home a month ago, Butler’s Bulldogs get to try the Huskies again, on the road.

In the NBA tonight, the Pacers host the Houston Rockets.
