Betty Ann Nobbe, 83, Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at the home of her sister, Marlene Meyer, with her family by her side.
Born, March 19, 1940 in Greensburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of Edwin and Loretta (Bedel) Nobbe.
Betty graduated in 1958 from Greensburg High School. After graduation she began farming, housekeeping, and assisting the dairy set up with her brothers on the family farm. She then left to attend the school of Cosmetology in Indianapolis. After completing her schooling, she started her first job working for Bess Kirby at Kirby’s Beauty Salon. Betty opened her own beauty salon in 1975 at her house on West Base Road, where she worked until becoming ill and unable to work in 2019.
She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and her favorite pastime was playing cards with friends and family.
Betty is survived by four brothers: Walter (Judy) Nobbe, Connersville, Leon (Carole Ann) Nobbe, Greensburg, Herman (Theresa) Nobbe, Greensburg, Robert (Linda) Nobbe, Greensburg; three sisters: Marlene Meyer, Greensburg, Delores (Lawrence) Young, Greensburg, Susan (Wayne) Munson, Rushville; sister-in-law, Sharon Nobbe, Greensburg; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Eugene Nobbe; brother-in-law, Dennis Meyer; nieces, Emily Meyer and Laura Nobbe Bean; great nieces; Isabelle Nobbe and McKenna Young; great nephew, William Jason Nobbe.
Family and friends will gather at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 10 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the funeral mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. John Meyer officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
