St. Leon, IN — East Central Middle School agriculture teacher McCord Snider is one of eight finalists for Indiana’s Golden Owl Award.
The award honors agriculture educators’ contributions to serving a critical role in their communities and preparing students for successful careers and helping them pursue their
passions.
In addition to Snider, the other finalists as named by Indiana FFA are:
• Mike Appleton, Lewis Cass High School
• Myia Bromm, South Knox High School
• Leah Henderson, DeKalb High School
• Duane Huge, Danville High School
• Mike A. Jones, Adams Central High School
• Adam Miller, Fountain Central High School
• Mike Shirey, Heritage High School
Snider and the other finalists will receive an individualized plaque and $500.
One finalist will be chosen as the grand prize winner, earning the Indiana 2022-23 Ag Educator of the Year award, the coveted Golden Owl Award trophy, and $3,000 to help fund future educational efforts.
Indiana’s Golden Owl winner will be announced in June at the 94th Indiana FFA State Convention at Purdue University.
