Reds get swept by Dodgers

The Cincinnati Reds were swept by the Dodgers in Los Angeles as LA won the final two games of the series.

The final Saturday was 5-2 and the Reds wasted a great pitching effort from Hunter Greene.

The rookie righthander set a major league record for most 100 miles per hour pitches thrown in one game with 39. Greene struck out six and tossed five scoreless frames before giving up three runs in the sixth.

Tyler Naquin and Tommy Pham both drove in a run for the Redlegs. Tyler Stephenson had two of the team’s four hits.

On Sunday, the Dodgers erupted for seven runs in the fourth and went on to down Cincy 9-1.

For a second straight game, the Reds were held to just four hits.  Naquin had the team’s only RBI.

The Reds have now lost six straight and head to San Diego tonight (Monday) to start a three game series with the Padres.  Listen to the game on 103.9 WRBI starting at 9:10 pm. First pitch is 9:40 pm.
