Three-Car accident sends two to the hospital

Batesville, IN — Thursday afternoon, the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a three-car accident with injuries on SR 129.

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered that a black Jeep, driven by Juan Carlos Visoso, of Versailles, was traveling southbound on SR 129 when he failed to stop as the white Chevrolet Blazor, driven by Sharon Smith, of Batesville had stopped in front of him to turn on County Road 1200 North. This caused Smith to go into the pathway of a third vehicle, a black Subaru Outback, driven by Tyson Skinner of Madison.

Two people were transported to Margret Mary Hospital for minor injuries and stomach pain. SR 129 was shut down for a couple of hours. Assistance was provided at the scene by the Indiana State Police, Batesville Police Department, Indiana State Excise, and Batesville Fire and EMS. The crash is still under investigation.
