Lawrence “Bill” Schlager, age 77, of Harrison, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Drake Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born August 8, 1943 in North College Hill the son of Ferdinand and Elizabeth (Remmel) Schlager.
He was the devoted husband of Sherry Ruth (Hochscheid) Schlager of Harrison, Ohio. He grew up in North College Hill, resided in Mt. Healthy and later moved to Whitewater Township in the Harrison area. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and adult life working in construction. He attended church at the First Presbyterian church in Harrison, Ohio, belonged to the Harrison VFW Duwel Post 7570 and American Legion Post #199 of Harrison, Ohio.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Sherry Schlager, step daughter and step son-in-law Jody and Todd Rivera of Harrison, Ohio, his grandchildren he adored were Sara Cunningham of Atlanta Georgia, Lucas, Jacob and Rachel Rivera of Harrison, Ohio. Brother of Fred (Joyce) Schlager, sister-in-law Barb Schlager and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents Ferdinand and Elizabeth Schlager, siblings Jack Schlager, Mary Rohrscheib, step children Connie (Gaiser) Harper and step son in law Billy Harper.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. until time of funeral services at 1:00 P.M. with Dr. Joshua Long officiating all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home 215 Broadway St. Harrison, Ohio 45030. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Harrison Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy.
