Jeffery L. Fasnacht, 74, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away Saturday January 23, 2021 in Columbus, IN.
He was born April 22, 1946 in Aurora, Indiana, son of the late Louis Fasnacht and Virginia (Gordon) Fasnacht. He grew up in Greensburg, Indiana attending St. Mary’s Catholic School and Greensburg Community High School. He married Kathy “Katie” Leitch and together they were blessed with and would blend four wonderful children. He would often introduce Katie with an infectious smile as my “beautiful wife”. Jeff committed his professional career to orthodontic manufacturing and sales for more than 40 years. He and Katie owned and operated Midwest Orthodontic Mfg. in Columbus for more than 20 years. He greatly enjoyed the entrepreneurial aspect of business and was very proud to contribute to the Columbus community. The orthodontic business would afford him the opportunity of significant international travel and he would often share stories of the many beautiful places he was able to visit. A dear friend recently shared “Jeff was the best of friends, a faithful partner, and a fierce competitor”.
Throughout his life he was in awe of his family and friends. He found so much happiness in those close to him. If you wanted to see his face light up just ask about a family member, sit back, and listen. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, sincere hugs, and the one who wanted every party to be grand. He loved to entertain anyone who would listen with endless jokes and magic tricks.
Jeff enjoyed golf, hunting and fishing. If you joined him in any of these it was certain to become a “friendly” competition. Oh….the stories! He was also a long time member of the Columbus Elks where he again developed so many dear friendships.
He will be greatly missed by his dear family, friends, and neighbors as he touched so many hearts.
Jeffery is survived by his loving spouse of 45 years Kathleen (Leitch) Fasnacht; children, Steven (Kristi) Fasnacht of Greensburg, IN, Michael (Angela) Fasnacht of Champaign, IL, Jason Fasnacht of Columbus, IN, Beth Fasnacht of Nashville, TN; sister, Sue Davis of Muncie, IN; grandchildren, Derek Fasnacht, Dyelynn Hedrick, Brandon Fasnacht, Krystalynn Fasnacht, Hannah Davis; 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his lovable dog, Dick.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
