After being selected as The Cincinnati Tri-State Area Team of the Week, The East Central Trojans Wrestling team has won the IHSWCA 3A Team State Championship as part of a multi-dual event at Franklin Community School on Saturday, January 2nd.
EC undefeated this season, competed in three dual matchups with victories over Northridge 40-27; #1, and host Franklin 36-31; and Floyd Central for the championship 33-32.
Three Trojan wrestlers are currently ranked in the state at their weight class. 2020 152 # State Runner-up, Bryer Hall, is #1 in the 170 # class, 2020 State Finalist at 182 #, Kole Viel, is #7 at 220#, and Semi-State participant last year, Blake Wolf, is #12 at 126# class.
The Trojans have followed up with another successful campaign this year after going 33-0 last year winning The EIAC, Sectionals, and Regionals.
EC will travel to South Dearborn to battle The Knights on Tuesday, January 12th in dual competition.
