Dale Bell, 90, of Versailles passed away at 2:20am, Friday, January 1, 2021 at Thornton Terrace in Hanover. She was born at Cody in Knott County, Kentucky on August 9, 1930 the daughter of Harrison and Raney Blair Francis. She was married to Robert Bell on September 2, 1950 and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1984. Survivors include one son Ron (Sherrie) Bell of Taswell; one daughter Charlotte (Jeff) Logman of Versailles; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; one brother Harrison (Alice) Francis, Jr. of Marion. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Coy, Hastel, Hubert, and Hobart Francis, and her sisters Donna Disney and Betty Francis. Mrs. Bell was a 1948 graduate of Milan High School and also attended beautician’s school in Columbus. Dale was a former employee of Seagram’s in Lawrenceburg and the Cross Plains State Bank. For several years she owned and operated Dale’s Beauty Shop in Cross Plains and also Dale’s Floral Designs. She also worked at the Versailles Super-Valu which she retired from in 1986. Dale enjoyed tending to her flowers and gardening. She founded Reaching Our Community’s Kids (ROCK) and for several years hosted Bible studies in her home. She was also active with the Good News Clubs through the South Ripley Elementary School. Dale was a member of the Cross Plains United Methodist Church where she taught Bible School, sang in the choir, and sponsored the MYF. Dale attended the Hope Baptist Church at Dillsboro and also the Tyson United Methodist Church in Versailles. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 6th at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with pastor Mark Zerkel of the Tyson United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Methodist Cemetery at Cross Plains. Visitation will also be on Wednesday beginning at 10am. Memorials may be given to the Good News Clubs (CEF) in care of the funeral home.
