Rosella M. “Sally” Meyer, age 89 of Batesville, died Monday, August 24, 2020 at The Waters of Batesville. Born April 21, 1931 in Franklin County Indiana, she is the daughter of Bronda (Nee: Kirschner) and Joseph Enneking. She married William Meyer June 27, 1951 at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg and he preceded her in death May 4, 2002. She was a homemaker and longtime member of the Eagles Aerie #1130.
Sally was an avid bowler for decades and enjoyed reading romance novels, though, many will remember her fingernails. She took great pride in decorating her nails for whatever the season or holiday was and then being able to show them off. An accomplished seamstress, in addition to sewing clothes for her family, she made wedding dresses, curtains and used to make the uniforms for The Sherman House waitresses. She also had a love for big band music and dancing. Bill was a drummer, so Sally would often attend the band’s shows.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon Stouffer of Batesville; sons Michael Meyer of Cincinnati, David Meyer of Batesville; sister Cordelia Harmeyer of Connersville, Indiana; eight grandchildren and fourteen greatgrandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by her son Timothy Meyer and brothers Sylvester, Stanley Ambrose and Alphonse Enneking.
Sally will be cremated. The family will receive friends from 9 – 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 28th, at the Weigel Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating and burial in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to Alzheimer’s Association. The current Governor’s mandate requires all attendees wear a facemask and observe physical distancing. The mask must cover the individual’s nose and mouth at all times.
