Raymond Edward White, 68

Raymond Edward White, 68, passed away on April 19, 2020 at 12:40 AM at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. Ray was born on September 10, 1951 to Walter and Marilyn White in Greensburg, IN. He spent his entire life in Greensburg, growing up with his two siblings, Willa (Omer) Cornn, and Carl (Kathy Lowery) White. The family spent much of their time at Bible Baptist Church in Greensburg.

He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1972. After high school, he worked at American Manufacturing, Delta Faucet, Cummins and he retired from MLKS Ball Bearings in 2015. He married Joyce Brandenburg on Sept. 18, 1993, and she survives. Ray and Joyce enjoyed vacationing often. It was not unusual for them to travel several times a year. His travels often included long motorcycle trips. It was rare for anyone who knew Ray well, not to have taken a ride on his motorcycle, accompanied him on a trip, or at least have heard a story about one of his bikes. When he wasn’t traveling or spending time with his family, he could be found spoiling his dogs, Ginger and Bo.

He loved his family fiercely and enjoyed spending time with them. Ray was known for telling stories to his family and could often be found bragging on his children and grandchildren. Children include, Joe (Amanda) White, and Angie (Dave) Schwering. Additionally, he raised his step-granddaughter, Christina (Kris) Bratton, as if she were his own child. Step children are Bill Smith, and Kelly (Steve) Esters. Grandchildren include, Trevin and Reagan White and Thomas, Ryan, Max and Kate Schwering. He also had seven step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren, Leeanne, Evelaina, and Maddox, who he adored. Other survivors include six nephews, and brother-in-law Donnie (Vicky) Brandenburg. Ray was preceded in death by his father, Walter White, In-laws, Hobert and Francis Brandenburg, grandson, Samuel Ray Schwering and favorite dog, Tater.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at the Lower Union Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Decatur County Memorial Hospital Foundation. Ray was an organ donation recipient and the family encourages others to consider organ donation in his memory. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.gilliland-howe.com.
