Charles Leonard Hocker Jr., 75, resident of Greensburg, IN passed on April 4, 2020.
Born, September 18, 1944, in Lexington, Kentucky, he was the son of Charles Leonard Hocker and Lola Catherine Elam Hocker.
After graduating from Versailles High School in Kentucky, Charlie attended and graduated Morehead State University class of 1970 where he majored in History. It was here that he met and then married Mary Jane Hurt Hocker, his wife of 52 years, and she survives. The couple just celebrated their anniversary March 9. Charlie and Janie were blessed with one son, Brian (Angel) Hocker of Greensburg, and three grandsons; Brandon (Denver, Co.), Andrew and Derek, Greensburg, all surviving.
Charlie was the oldest child of four. He was proceeded in death by his sister Joan Hocker, and is survived by Carl (Sharon) Hocker Sr. of Spartanburg, SC and Melvin (Fran) Hocker of Warner Robbins, Ga.
Charlie was a passionate University of Kentucky Wildcat fan and thoroughly enjoyed cheering on his son and grandsons in everything they did.
Charlie served his country in the United States Army Military Intelligence. He was a great man of faith who served God with all of his heart. He loved God, loved his family and loved his country.
He attended The Bridge of Hope Church in Versailles, In. Charlie spent the majority of his career in supply chain management in various companies throughout central Kentucky and Indiana. Charlie was most recently running for County Council at Large and was the Secretary of the Decatur County Republican Party.
Charles will be buried at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Kentucky.
