UPDATE: Five-day closure of U.S. 421, S.R. 3 intersection begins Oct. 7 in Greensburg

UPDATE:

The closure of the U.S. 421 and S.R. 3 intersection in Greensburg has been rescheduled for next week. The five-day closure will begin Monday, October 7. The intersection is scheduled to reopen the afternoon of Friday, October 11, weather permitting.

The closure was originally scheduled to begin September 30, but has been pushed back a week due to the contractor’s schedule. Median patching and pavement repair will be completed during the closure.

 

 

Original Story:

Dave O’Mara Contractor Inc. will close the intersection of U.S. 421 and S.R. 3 in Greensburg today (Sept. 30) to complete median patching and pavement repair. The intersection is scheduled to reopen the afternoon of Friday, October 4, weather permitting.

During the closure, traffic on U.S. 421 will not be able to travel through the intersection or make left turns onto S.R. 3. Thru traffic will not be affected on S.R. 3, but motorists will not be able to make left turns onto U.S. 421.

The official state detour for U.S. 421 NB will follow S.R. 3 to I-74 WB. The detour for U.S. 421 SB will follow S.R. 3 to S.R. 46.

The resurfacing portion of the $11.7 million S.R. 3/U.S. 421 pavement replacement and bridge preservation project is scheduled to be completed by October 31, 2019. The entire project is expected to be completed by July 2020.
