Robert B. Morton, 71, of Greensburg passed away on March 26, 2019. He was born on October 11, 1947 in Batesville, Indiana the son of Ellsworth and Norma Jean Corson Morton. Robert was the oldest of seven children. He graduated from Sunman High School in 1965. After high school he enlisted and served in the Army National Guard. On August 16, 1975 he married Jane Cook and together they had two sons Bill and Ryan. Robert was passionate about his sons; he coached them for many years in various sports. In 1999, he retired from Cummins Engine Company. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post #129, Eagles Lodge # 927, and First Christian Church.
Survivors include: Wife- Jane Morton; Sons- Bill (Megan) Morton and Ryan (Julie) Morton; Grandchildren- Parker, Chase, Sage, Archer, Quinn, Molly, and Teddy Morton; Siblings- Diana (Jerry) Ertel, Debra (Mike) Tower, Ginger (Mike) Troxell, and Brian (Kelli) Morton; Mother in Law- Doris Cook; Brother in Law- Darrell Thomas; Sister in Law Karen Matlock; many Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Great Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sister- Suzanne Thomas; and Brother- Billy Morton.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland Howe Funeral Home on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 11:00 am at the First Christian Church. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Rev. Danny Wolford will be officiating.
