Eugene “Gene” Houze 70, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Friday January 4, 2019 in Aurora, Indiana.
He was born March 21, 1948 in Aurora, IN, son of the late Cecil Houze and Rowena (Riley) Houze
He served his country as a member of the United States Army during Vietnam.
He worked at Schenley Distillery for 21 years and then worked for Kroger.
He was a former member of Lawrenceburg Eagles. Gene loved to hunt, fish, play cards, and Corn Hole. He was a Reds and Bengal’s Fan and enjoyed watching the western “The Rifle Man”. Gene was a quiet and easy going man that loved spending time with his family and friends.
Gene is survived by his loving spouse of 47 years Monique Houze (Shinkle), sons, Scott Houze, Chris (Sandra) Houze, and Matt (Michelle) Houze , all of Aurora, IN; brother, Ray (Donna) Houze of MI; sister, Dinah Houze of KY; grandchildren, Isaac Houze & Chase Houze.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Tony & David Houze.
Friends will be received Tuesday, January 8, 2019, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Tuesday at 7:00 pm. Military services will be conducted at the funeral home following funeral services, by members of local Veterans Service Organizations.
