Ethelene Grooms, age 77 of St. Peters, Indiana passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The daughter of Edgar and Marjorie (Young) Grooms was born in West Union, Ohio on December 17, 1940.
Ethelene is a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Sunman and was active in the United Methodist Women’s Group. She retired from Boswell Oil Company after many years of dedicated service.
As an avid outdoors woman, she spent hours of enjoyment tending to her flowers, landscapes and bird feeders. Mowing to perfection was a joy of hers because she was very particular about her yard. Ethelene especially loved being with her brothers and sisters, and spending time going to visit them. She was a very simple yet elegant lady.
She is survived by her sons Bobby Burchett of West Harrison, IN and Andrew (Alison) Grooms of Batesville, IN; daughter, Amy (Jeffrey) Alwell of Coldspring, KY; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; along with her siblings, Carol Davis, Nancy Liston, Denny Grooms, Jerry Grooms, Stevie Grooms, Scotty Grooms, Mary Hill, Karen Echerivel, Donna Wolfer, David Grooms and Danny Grooms.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8pm with funeral services at 2:00PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Burial will follow in St. Paul UMC Cemetery in Sunman, IN. Brother Scotty Grooms officiating.
