19-year state police veteran sexual misconduct charges

Greensburg, In. — A 19-year veteran of the Indiana State Police with no prior disciplinary history has been charged with sexual battery and sexual misconduct with a minor.

Jack Hewitt, 54, of Greensburg, became the target of an investigation on August 9th and was immediately placed on paid administrative leave. He was taken into custody at the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department Thursday around 3:30 p.m. He resigned from the state police after being arrested.

No other details about the alleged crime is being released at this time. A booking photo was not available.
