Brookville, In. — A Brookville resident was arrested for neglect of a dependent Monday following a Franklin County Sheriff’s Department investigation on St. Peter’s Road.
Residents called police after a female juvenile wandered onto their property suffering from injuries received during a physical altercation. Deputies determined Melisa Stone, 43, left five children alone ranging in ages 10 to 14 alone for about six hours when the fight erupted.
The juvenile was transported by ambulance to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for treatment of head, arm and leg injuries. Stone was arrested for felony neglect of a dependent.
