VERSAILLES, Ind. — Rodney Matthews, 25, of Versailles, pled guilty to Dissemination of Matter Harmful to Minors, a Level 6 Felony, just days prior to the start of his trial, which was scheduled to begin on March 21, according to a release sent out by Ripley County Prosecuting Attorney, Ric Hertal.
During his plea hearing, Matthews admitted that from July, 2014 through August, 2015, he had sent nude pictures of himself to a 16-year-old female through Snapchat.
Matthews’ original charges stemmed from a relationship he was having with the female while he was a volunteer teacher for the Versailles Church of Christ Youth Group.
Judge Ryan King accepted Matthews guilty plea and sentenced him to 1.5 years probation, and was ordered to have no contact with his victim.
