FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. — At Franklin County Community School’s February school board meeting, the board voted unanimously to rename Brookville Middle School.
The middle school will mirror the high school’s mascot, the wildcats, and colors, Navy Blue, Columbia Blue, and Sliver.
A new vision and mission statement will be given to the middle school.
- Mission Statement: Building a strong community of college and career ready students.
- Vision Statement: All students will embrace learning, excel academically, and own their own futures.
The changes will go into effect the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year.
The middle school will also be getting a new logo, and school officials say students in the Graphic Arts Class at the White Water Career Center are designing a logo.
The teacher transition team has narrowed the field to three logos.
All current 6th and 7th graders will have the opportunity to cast a vote for their favorite design.
The middle school will be hosting an open house/information night for all incoming 7th and 8th grade students and their parents on March 1, beginning at 6:00 PM.
The building will be open for students and parents to tour, and an informational meeting will take place in the gym starting at 7:00.
