Ronald Lee Schnebelt, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Ronald was born on February 11, 1939 to Leo and Eleanor “Dolly” (Greene) Schnebelt in Lawrenceburg, IN. Ronald served his country in the Army from 1961 to 1963 and was an equipment operator at Ken Neyer Plumbing in Cleves, OH. He was a former owner and operator of Friendship Tavern. He enjoyed the outdoors as a 4 wheeled drag racer and race car driver. He also enjoyed fishing, working and the garage as a mechanic. Ronald liked to tease and joke with people. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 292. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Rita (Edwards) Schnebelt, 6 sons: Randy (Mindy) Schnebelt of Patriot, Sandy (Jeni) Schnebelt of Cross Plains, Andy Schnebelt of Aurora, John Chance of Versailles, Brian (Daphne) Houze of Lawrenceburg, and John (Stephanie) Suddendorf of Corydon, IN, 2 daughters; Candy (Danny Thomas) Schnebelt of Friendship, and Angela (Tracy) Moore of W. Harrison, 1 brother David “Dick” (Janice) Schnebelt of Lawrenceburg, 3 sisters: Cora Goodpaster, Patricia Ratliff, and Judy Dennison all of Lawrenceburg, 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and the mother of his sons, Caryl Schnebelt. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 1:00 P.M. at the American Legion Post #292 in Dillsboro. Memorials may be made to the family.
