FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. — 2 juveniles were involved in a police pursuit on Sunday.
Around 1:45 AM, Laurel Police attempted to stop an ATV with no headlights or taillights, that was occupied by 2 juveniles on State Road 121, just north of US 52.
When the officer turned the emergency lights on, the individuals fled.
The pursuit continued east on US 52, the ATV ran off the road into a field and into a yard in the 20000 block of US 52, before entering the roadway again.
The pursuit continued east on US 52 to the Metamora Church of God, where the individuals ran off the road again and through the field behind the church through the yard.
The pursuit continued back onto US 52, this time Westbound.
The individuals swerved around a Sheriff’s Deputy that was waiting to see which way the ATV would go.
The pursuit continued North on State Road 121 where it was ended, when officers boxed the ATV in by using a guardrail and police vehicles to safely stop the ATV.
It was determined that the 2 juveniles had left their grandparent’s house with their grandfather’s quad without permission and proceeded to leave the property.
The juveniles were released into the custody of the grandfather with pending charges to follow.
