2 Laurel men arrested on drug charges

LAUREL, Ind. — Two Laurel men have been arrested after a routine traffic stop near Laruel on Satruday.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Jerry Abrams, 62, and Tony Pursifull, 44, were arrested on the charges of Dealing in Methamphetamine and Possession of Paraphernalia.

Police initiated a traffic stop around 6:00 PM near Laruel for an equipment violation.

During an investigation officers discovered over an ounce of crystal methamphetamine.

If fully convicted, the 2 face up to 30 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
