Lady Bulldogs Battle Lady Cubs In Volleyball Play

The Batesville JV Volleyball team defeated Madison in 3 games with scores of 16-25, 25-17, and 15-5. Katie Bedel scored 15 points including 2 aces in a 19/20 serving effort. Shalee Harrington chipped in 6 points from the service line. Grace  Laudick led in serve receptions with 11, while Belle Wolters had 8 digs and 5 assists from her setting position. The team is now 2-0 on the season and will be home on Thursday vs. Connersville in the first EIAC match of the season.

In the Varsity match there was allot of back and forth ball, but eventually Madison got the better of us in four sets.  While playing competitively, we could not muster the grit needed to seal the deal in more than one instance.  We just saw errors in to many facets of the game.  We gave up 24 total points in hitting errors, 14 in service errors and 7 in blocking.  Needless to say we will work on managing our court a little better so when we are pressured, it should seem like second nature.  High points for the evening were #5 Macy Prickel with 9 kills.  # 16 Caitln Broering and #17 Abigail Westerfeld both connected for 6 kills apiece, and #1 Bea Amberger had three solo blocks.

Game time will resume on Thursday evening against the Spartans!
