Richard Garber Stork of Holton, formerly of Osgood and Richmond, Indiana, expired at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 17, 2018. He was the son of the late John Henry Stork Jr. and Ella Mae Garber Stork. He is survived by two brothers, John Henry Stork III of Morgan City, Louisiana, and Robert Franklin Stork (Eileen) of Cincinnati, Ohio, an aunt, Virginia Stork Miller of Osgood, Indiana, nephews Craig Stork and John H. Stork IV, nieces Caroline Stork, Clare Stork Wilson (Robert), and Margaret Stork, and many cousins and friends.
Rick was a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana and McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was a former Richmond, Indiana police officer, and a former teacher and assistant football coach in the Milan School District.
Rick was an avid fisherman and hunter. Many of his happiest times where spent “on the reef” at the family fishing camp in the bayous of southern Louisiana, and in the fields and woods around Osgood in the fall. Nothing made Rick happier than when he was frying up the fish he caught, boiling crawfish or shucking oysters fresh from the beds at the fish camp.
He always raised a huge vegetable garden, loving the taste of country fresh, spending many days assisting his mother in the preparation of delicious tomato juice and preserving nature’s bounty.
Memorials made be made to the Osgood Methodist Church, Osgood, Indiana. http://www.umc.org/find-a-church/church/53964
