18-year-old killed in North Vernon accident

NORTH VERNON, Ind. — A North Vernon man has been killed in an accident on US 50 on Sunday.

According to the Indiana State Police, Caleb Fish, 18, sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

Police say a pickup truck driven by Michael C. Furlong, 53, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, was traveling westbound on US 50 at State Road 750.

Furlong’s vehicle entered 750 into the path of a westbound truck driven by Fish.

The vehicles collided head-on in the middle of the intersection.

Both vehicles left the north side of US 50 before coming to a rest.

Fish was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Jennings County Coroner’s Office.

Furlong and a passenger were injured in the crash and were transported to St. Vincent Jennings Hosptial.
