Dillsboro, IN —Early Sunday morning, the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office responded to Prosperity Ridge Road in Dillsboro for a report of a male that had been shot. Once on scene, deputies learned that an 18-year-old male had been fatally shot on the same day as his graduation from South Dearborn High School. According to Sheriff Shane McHenry, one person is in custody and charges will be forthcoming.
The case is being investigated by the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Dearborn County Coroner’s Office, Dillsboro Fire, Dillsboro Ems, Ripley County EMS, Friendship Fire Dept. and the Indiana State Police. More information will be released over the next couple of days once charges are filed.
