North Vernon Police: Argument Leads To Fatal Shooting

North Vernon Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Monday afternoon.

Police responded to 309 Franklin Street around noon and found 24-year-old Jeremy Moore, of North Vernon shot and laying in the front yard.

He was transported to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Reports are indicating that Moore and 57-year-old Donald Ray Williams of Commiskey, had gotten into an argument. Police believe the confrontation led up to Moore being shot by Williams.

Police took Williams into custody without incident yesterday. He was booked into the Jennings County Jail on a preliminary charge of reckless homicide, a class C felony.

The shooting remains under investigation.
